I'm a mom of three and the creator behind A Quick Spoonful, a lazy girl's food blog built around quick, easy, delicious recipes. The kind you make on a real weeknight, for real people, with real life still happening all around you.

My whole thing is simple: good food doesn't have to take all day to make.

The story

It started with a spoonful.

My mom is my biggest culinary influence. She worked full-time and still came home every single day and cooked dinner from scratch. Not leftovers. Not takeout. Real food, every night. I grew up thinking that was just what you did. It shaped everything.

I learned my first foundational cake recipe from a neighbor as a kid and spent years after that just experimenting with different ingredients, different flavor combinations, always trying to find something new. I eventually opened a bakery in London after getting married, before we relocated to Florida to raise our family. Cooking was never a career plan. It was just life.

The “spoon” thing started as a joke. I had this habit of taking a bite of my husband's plate and somehow getting an entire dish's worth of flavors onto one spoonful. He found it hilarious. I started documenting it on Instagram, mostly just for me. And A Quick Spoonful was born.

When COVID hit, I launched on TikTok in January 2020. My very first video got 26 views. I kept going anyway.

The breakthrough came with a dump cake. I posted a video, said “Don't mix it” and that phrase became my whole brand. Buzzfeed Tasty shared it. The comments blew up. Suddenly a lot more than 26 people were watching. I put together the Don't Mix It! Cake Collection and started selling it directly to the people who kept asking for more.

In January 2024, I published my first real cookbook with an actual publisher. The lifelong dream version. And then, about a year ago, real loss. But I keep cooking, keep posting, keep showing up every week. Because feeding people is how I say I care, whether it's my kids, my community, or a stranger who just needs something good for dinner tonight.

“I talk to my audience the way I'd talk to a friend sitting across from me at a table.”

The recipes I share are the ones I actually make, for my family, on real weeknights, with real life happening in the background. One-pan dinners. 5-minute treats. Minimal ingredients, maximum payoff. I don't partner with brands I wouldn't use in my own kitchen, and I don't share recipes that haven't earned a spot on our table.
