Caesar Burrata Chicken Toast

Sophia's Notes

  • Sophia used Trader Joe's Sandwich Starters — they're pre-sliced sandwich rolls, super sturdy, perfect for toasting. Any thick bread works though.
  • Crunchy garlic oil, not chili oil. Sophia is very specific about this. Chili oil makes it too spicy. The crunchy garlic gives you all the umami without the burn.
  • Spoon the Caesar dip on and then let it sit for a second before adding the burrata. Sophia says it explicitly. Just trust her.
  • Spread the burrata out — don't just plop it on whole. Tear it open and let it melt into everything underneath.
  • This is a TJ's haul special: Sandwich Starters, spiced romaine, and Caesar dip are all from Trader Joe's. The crunchy garlic oil too if you can find it.
  • Leftover rotisserie chicken works great here — this is the perfect use for whatever's still in the fridge from dinner.

Ingredients

2 servings
  • 2 thick slices bread or sandwich rolls, toasted (Sophia uses TJ's Sandwich Starters)
  • 1 cup rotisserie chicken, shredded
  • 1–2 cups spiced romaine (Trader Joe's has a great one)
  • 3–4 tbsp Caesar salad dip (TJ's Caesar dip)
  • 1 ball fresh burrata
  • crunchy garlic oil, to taste (not chili oil — crunchy garlic)

Instructions

  1. 1

    Toast the bread

Toast your bread until it's golden and sturdy enough to hold everything. Sophia uses the bottom half of TJ's Sandwich Starters — they're thick, soft, and toast up perfectly.

  2. 2

    Add the chicken

Shred or pull apart some leftover rotisserie chicken and lay it over the toast. This is the base — don't be shy with it.

  3. 3

    Top with romaine

Add a good amount of spiced romaine on top of the chicken. Trader Joe's has a pre-spiced version that's perfect straight from the bag.

  4. 4

Spoon on the Caesar dip — then wait

Add a few spoonfuls of Caesar dip over the romaine. Then just let it sit there for a moment. Sophia is very specific about this step. Don't rush it.

  5. 5

    Burrata

Tear open a ball of burrata and lay it over everything. Spread it out so it melts into the Caesar and romaine underneath. You want coverage, not a whole blob in the center.

  6. 6

    Crunchy garlic

Drizzle crunchy garlic oil over the top. Not chili oil — crunchy garlic. It gives you all the umami without making everything spicy. If you know, you know.

  7. 7

    Eat it immediately

That's it. Your new obsession. Sophia said you're going to eat this all the time, and she's right.
